About me

Welcome. I am Wendy Brandal, one of Anchor Bay School District's STEM - Technology teachers. My mission is to help students take joy in creative problem solving using technology and the engineering design process.

Your child will alternate between Technology and STEM class by quarter; starting with Technology.

In Technology class, we guide instruction by utilizing the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD) course 21 Things for Students.
In STEM, students work through the inquiry and design processes as they experience the activities, projects, and engineering problems of their Project Lead the Way PLTW modules.

I have been an Anchor Bay teacher since 2000. I have taught Technology, Second Grade, Fourth Grade, and Tech/STEM. In 2017, I was trained and certified as a PTLW Launch Classroom Teacher and PTLW Launch Lead Teacher. My certification allows me to teach all PTLW elementary modules and also train new PTLW teachers. I am a member of MACUL, Michigan Association of Computer Users and Learners and actively seek out new and interesting lesson ideas for my students.

On a personal note, I am married and have a teenage son. We enjoy traveling to new and interesting places. I love to kayak and snorkel! In my spare time I may be watching a Star Wars, Harry Potter, or a super hero movie. I also like to paint, read, and play board games - especially Scrabble. We have two dogs, Daisy and Speedy, and a bearded dragon named Spike the Curious (he used to be my fourth grade class pet).
